Spudding well 16A

Based on additional seismic data and well data, the MS license has now been updated with another four structures/prospects (nos 16, 17, 18 and 19). This provides further interesting drilling locations. Our structure/prospect map on our website www.aogc.no will be updated in the near future to reflect this.

The A60/80 rig has now spudded a new well: 16A. This structure was identified on a North-South seismic line which the company recently acquired, and it is located approximately 6 kms southeast of the gas discovery well 1A. Yesterday the well was drilling at 30 m depth.

Initially, this rig was supposed to drill on the 11A location, but early and extended spring thaw presented significant problems in reaching that location, and the company decided to move the rig to a location closer to the 1A gas discovery.

Total depth of the well is at 730 meters, in basement. Drilling operation is expected to take 5-6 weeks.
