The well has now been cased and cemented, and on 6th May the first drillstem test was done. Already after opening the choke a very small amount, significant quantities of gas flowed from the wellhead, and the well flowed an estimated rate in the region of 1 million CFGPD. For safety reasons the test was discontinued and the wellhead, valves etc are now being upgraded in order to perform further production tests. It is expected that this is completed in about a week’s time. These tests are of critical importance for converting the MS license as a production license
An appraisal drilling program is now being planned on the 1A structure, to evaluate the possible presence of an oil leg on the flanks of the structure, under the gas cap now being tested.
