Structural interpretation of the 3D seismic that was shot earlier this year has been completed. Initial results indicate the presence of additional structures, previously not mapped on the main known producing formations of the field, and confirms the structures that have been drilled based on 2D seismic.
In addition a new play, previously not interpreted on the field, has been mapped in the Lower Carboniferous (Tournaisian). This is a known producing formation in the neighbouring field.
This substantially upgrades the reserves potential of the field and will be used for the planned drilling program. More detailed information will be communicated forthcoming about the new structures.
This first interpretation was done by the Russian seismic contractor. AOGC will now do an independent processing and interpretation of the data in the UK.
